Occasion: 16th Anniversary of Gurudwara Sahib and Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Harkrishan Sahib Ji

The collected information will be kept safe and secure and no other parties will be able to access that. There is no false intention to collect the information other than the requirement for “Gurmat Competition” held by Gurudwara Committee.

Note:

Registrations close: 28th June, 2025 (Midnight)

Prize Distribution: Sunday, 20th July, 2025 at 11:45am. Parents are requested to retain the participant’s badge number issued on the competition day to bring it back on the prize distribution day. Prizes including the consolation prize will be claimed only upon returning the badge.

Competition Age group 4-5

Shudh Gurbani Recitation: Guru Fateh, Mool Mantar, Japji Sahib- First 2 Pauris Sikh art: Drawing materials from Sikh history will be provided. NO DRAWINGS OF THE GURU SAHIBAN (For Sikh Art, please bring your own coloring material like pencil colours, sketch pens, etc.) Time limit is maximum 2 hours. Roti Making: Time limit is 3 minutes. Judging will be on shape, cleanliness and confidence. Health & safety will be prioritized such as cold Tavi. Speech Competition (Punjabi only): Time limit 2-3 minutes. Five Takahat Sahib, Five Ks (Panj Kakaar). Punjabi Reading & Writing: Read and write Gurmukhi words.

Competition Age Group16-18

Shudh Gurbani Recitation: Jaap Sahib and Anand Sahib - Full Path with correct pronunciation and fluency (Any one Bani will be chosen by the judge at the time of competition). Sikh art: Must sketch independently (no tracing). NO DRAWINGS OF THE GURU SAHIBAN. (For Sikh Art, please bring your own coloring material like pencil colours, sketch pens, etc.) Time limit is maximum 2 hours.
Dastar Competition (Only Boys): Time limit 10-15 minutes.Judging on the factors like confidence, technique and neatness. Dumala Competition: Judging on the factors like confidence, technique and neatness. Time limit 10-15 minutes. Kirtan: As per the Maryada of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib, the Shabad Gayan must be from "Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji". Salwar suits for girls and Kurta Pajama for boys is the appropriate outfit for performing kirtan. White color will be preferred. Time limit 6-8 minutes.
Kavishri: Must be in Punjabi and fluent, from Sikh history only.Time limit is 8-10 minutes. Oral recitation is mandatory. No reading either from paper or any other source. Kavita: Must be in Punjabi and fluent, from Sikh history only.Time limit is 6-8 minutes. Oral recitation is mandatory. No reading either from paper or any other source.
